Description

The . metacharacter is matches any character, except newline or other line terminators.

Browser Support

/./ is an ECMAScript1 (ES1) feature.

ES1 (JavaScript 1997) is fully supported in all browsers:

new RegExp(" regexp.")

or simply:

Syntax with modifiers
